So Amazing - Layout Tutorial by Jacqueline Moore

Hi everyone!! Its Jacqueline here today to share with you a really fun layout I created using lots of awesome 13 Arts products!!!
I had been playing around making some little hand-painted feathers for my arrows I like to make when I realized that it would look super fantastic as a layout background.
I have also put together a little tutorial for you.

'So Amazing'

I really love how this turned out..... It is probably one of my favorite layouts so far!!!
The photo is of my Son Jet and I at the zoo earlier this year.

Some Details:

The chipboard hearts have been given a coat of White SPLASH! Ink, which gives the chipboard an enamel feel.

The chipboard frame has been covered in the Natural Mica in Fine Silver.

Here is the tutorial:

Steps 1 and 2: I have chosen to use plain white card for my background, but you could just as easily use a lightly patterned paper. Sketch your feathers onto the background using a lead pencil. When you are happy with them, outline in a black pen and add some detailing.

Steps 3 and 4:Outline all your feathers, add detailing, and draw some stitching around the edges. Then use your palette knife to spread gel medium all over the background. I have done this after drawing the feathers because if I had done it first the pen would just wipe off as soon as it got wet. The Gel Medium will also stop your paints/mists soaking into the paper making them easier to re-work and more vibrant.
Select a range of 13 Arts Paints and Mists and color your feathers, adding some splatters in the background.

Steps 5 and 6: Add some random stamping with archival ink in black and a script stamp. Add some more splatters of mist then stencil some triangles onto your background using Modelling paste and the Triangle Stencil from the Color Basic Collection.

Steps 7 and 8: Spritz the whole background with Pearl Silver Mist. Cut and distress your papers and layer them towards the bottom of the page with foam tape, adding Calico on top.

Steps 9 and 10: Add some twine and your photo. I have then added some splatters of Fuchsia and Pink Mist to the background to tie in with my photo. Next I have covered a Chipboard heart lattice in White SPLASH! Ink, then cut it into smaller pieces. I have also covered a chipboard frame in Natural Mica in Fine Silver. I have then added my embellishments to my page using Gel medium to secure them, and brushing my flowers with Gesso.

Step 11: I have finished of by spraying a few of the blue flowers with Chalk Turquoise Light Mist, and brushing some Chalk Ultramarine Mist beneath some of the papers and flowers. I have then added some Silver Mica Flakes randomly around the page beneath my embellishments, and adding some Silver Microspheres to a few of my flowers. I finished off by adding a couple of Clear Decorative Crystals and the butterfly gem at the top.

I hope you like my layout and are inspired to create something unique of your own!!!

Hi there! It's Geraldine and I'm back here with you for my final share as part of the 13@rts Guest Design team. I have loved being here creating with some of the most amazing and beautiful 13@rts products.
My daughter Mackenna had a wonderful photo shoot and although I don't create double pages I needed one similar to be beside another of the same themed photo. So for today I'm sharing a follow-up layout from my July post.
'Happy Spirit'

I'm a Blue/Teal girl......can't help myself! I love the Spray colour range that 13@rts have and the ability to combine Sprays, Chalk Spray, Ayeeda Metallic Paint and ink to create amazing and various colour tones.
I have also used 2 gorgeous stencils/Masks to create subtle texture on the background.
Starlight Collection -Stars
Mental Vacation Mask
To add soft and subtle texture I have added hints of  13@rts Coloured Grit -Light Blue, 'Love this product', also Glass filler and Black Mica flakes for a touch of shimmer!
For me a page wouldn't be the same without the final touches of adhesive gems and added highlights using the 2 masks again.
13@rts Product list:
Ayeeda Mist Pastel Blue
Ayeeda Mist Pastel green
Metallic Green paint
Black Ayeeda Ink
Black Mica flakes

Discover with Jelissa

Hello friends!

I'm up on the 13@rts blog today to share A layout I created, based on the current Mood board at Scrap Around the World.
Here is my project, using lots of 13@rts products:

I choose a calming blue because the color always makes me happy. This photo of the compass vane was also taken at the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse by the sea and looking out into the vast emptiness has a strangely calming effect on me.
More details in the close-ups:

A lovely paste I made from Magic Powder and Ultramarine Chalk Mist, from 13@rts. The background paper I chose is from my collection Mental Vacation (available at the 13@rts store) and titled Summer Snow. If I had not mentioned before , the collection is meant to be a series of places I like to go to in my head when things get a little too overwhelming. One of them is undoubtedly the seaside and summer snow describes the sea foam washing up the sand.

A chipboard which I used for my title.

Love that resin bicycle!

A little cloud chipboard which I also altered.
Here's A start-to-finish video showing How I put this whole layout together. Sit back and enjoy!

mixed media bird by Ingrid

Hi there 13arts friends!
Ingrid here today with a fun project, a mixed media bird.
Found this wooden bird (36cm) in a local store and I just had to alter it!

The fun began with collecting all kinds of metal pieces and buttons.
Added some glass filler, colored grit (grey light) and mika flakes (silver) for extra texture.
Painted all with a coat of gesso before adding all the paints.
For this project I again used my favorite turquoise and blue and green colors.

Some Scrapberry's flowers, also in 13arts store.

Metal pieces from my stash.

Thought the twigs were a nice touch, imitating some feathers.

A large key and metal leaves.

Two old buckles. You can put anything from your stash into a project!

The bottom stand.
Made all of the textures with glass filler, grit and mika flakes.
