Altered wooden painter`s palette by Heike`s AugenBlick

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my design team work.

I am Heike from Heike`s AugenBlick and I am your host for today.

I hope you had a beautiful Christmas time with lots of lovely memories.

Our Christmas time was quiet, Jörgen my handsome hubby had to work in the hospital.

So we only had the Christmas Eve lunch with three of our four kids.

I enjoyed the time we had together. It is so sad that the time for Christmas music is also over.

I love Christmas music and one of my favorite songs is:

"Walking in the air"

"Walking in the air" is a song from Howard Blake created for the 1982 animated UK Christmas special "The Snowman" based on the book by Raymond Briggs. The song was sung by choirboy Peter Auty.

The song has become a kind of Christmas standard in the United Kingdom,

as the animated special has become prominent in British culture airing annually similar to

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" in the US.

But any way:

I created for you an altered mixed media project, more precisely

a wooden painter`s palette.

A closer look:

My focal point photo is with clear embossing powder covered. I also used the little palette opening as frame for another photo which I covered with clear embossing powder also.

A short description about my background steps:

I started on my wooden painter`s palette with a layer of black gesso. After my black gesso was dry

I cut a paper-sheet from the sunrise paper collection and I glued this

to my wooden palette with gel medium.

I protected my paper with a layer of clear gesso.

After that I cut a piece of the travel the world transparency folie and I glued this with gel medium on my wooden palette.

After that I have added lots of texture with multipurpose medium, crackle glaze,

modeling paste and a stencil, powertex balls and 3D powders. I let the hole thing dry overnight.

My photo image shows the wet texture on my wooden palette.

My color choice for this project was quite dark and vintage looking.

That means Color Glow powders in dark blue and brown with gold and bras should

be the main colors on my wooden painter`s paltette.

Mixed Media Box - The Ocean by Monika Januszewska-Rosik

Witajcie! Na dzisiaj przygotowałam dla Was bardzo letni, morski projekt - szkatułkę na muszelki lub pamiątki z wakacji. Sierpień to idealna pora na stworzenie takiego projektu. Ja uwielbiam tworzyć w tym stylu i Wam również polecam, bo to sama przyjemność.

Hello! For today I have prepared a very summer, sea project for you - a box for shells or holiday souvenirs. August is the perfect time to create project like this. I love to create in this style and I recommend it to you as well, because it is pure pleasure.

Na wieku nakleiłam papier z bloczka A6 z kolekcji Down Under. Boki pomalowałam proszkami Color Glow zmieszanymi z Clear Gesso. Chciałam uzyskać lekko chropowatą powierzchnię w różnych odcieniach niebieskiego.

On the lid I glued paper from the A6 block from the Down Under collection. I painted the sides with Color Glow powders mixed with Clear Gesso. I wanted to create a slightly rough surface in various shades of blue.

Mixed media embroidery hoop by Monika

Witajcie! Na dzisiejszą inspirację postanowiłam wykonać pracę z elementami z kolekcji "Travel the World", w końcu zbliża się lato i w mojej głowi pojawiają się myśli o dalekich podróżach.

Hello! For today's inspiration, I decided to do project with elements from the "Travel the World" collection, finally summer is approaching and thoughts of distant travel appear in my head.

W takcie tworzenia lubię wykorzystywać elementy z recyklingu ponieważ moim zdaniem produkujemy zbyt dużo śmieci. Wpadałam na pomysł wykorzystania dżinsu wyciętego z moich starych spodni jako tło mojej pracy.

When I’m creating I love to incorporate some recycled materials because we produce too much garbage. So I thought to use denim cut out from old pair of jeans for a background.

Do kolorowania elementów oraz tła wykorzystałam jeden z moich ulubionych produktów 13arts - Color Glow. Dzięki temu, że paleta kolorów została rozszerzona o kilka nowych pozycji, możemy tworzyć dowolne kompozycje kolorystyczne.

For coloring elements and the background I used one of my favorite 13arts products - Color Glow. Thanks to the fact that the color palette has been extended by several new items, we can create any color compositions.

"Love" art journal page by Christina

Hello!!!!

This is Christina with you today with an art journal page again.

I am so in love with mixed media art journal pages and of course I love glitter!!!

So , you 'll see a lot of glitter and texture on my art journal today...

Undernieth my photo , you'll see some old brushes gessoed and painted with metallic paints and glitter... No paper embellies today...Only some foil butterflies....

I have used this beautiful "Aqua Roses " stencil twice , to make this textured backround!First time with modeling paste , next with glitter...Gold...

Some more close-ups are necessary....

"Best Memories" by Dawid

Cześć wszystkim,

widzieliście już nasze nowości? Ciężko im się oprzeć, ale jeszcze trudniej wybrać coś do projektu. Mój wybór padł na papier z kolekcji "Aqua Flora" i to on stał się bazą do mojego layout'u.

Hi everyone,

you have already seen our new products? It's hard to resist them, but it's even harder to choose something from them for the project. My choice fell on the paper from "Aqua Flora" collection and it became the basis for my layout.

Do tego projektu powstały trzy tagi. Zrobiłem je z białego papieru pomalowanego akwarelami. Na jeden z nich nakleiłem warstwę folii z wzorem z tej samej kolekcji co papier. Drugi został ostemplowany i pokryty wzorem z maski. Ostatni tylko ostemplowałem wzorem z numerków.

Three tags were created for this project. I made them from white paper painted with watercolors. On one of them I glued a layer of foil with a pattern from the same collection as paper. The second one was stamped and covered with a pattern from the stencil. The last one I just stamped using stamp with a pattern from numbers.

Po stworzeniu głównej kompozycji postanowiłem dodać pod nią plamę koloru używając farb akwarelowych. Nakleiłem jeszcze napisy na zdjęcia oraz główny napis z tekturki. Całość pochlapałem białym SPLASH'em.

After creating the main composition, I decided to add a stain of color under it using watercolor paints. I also stuck the inscriptions on the pictures and the main text from the chipboard. I splashed it all with white SPLASH ink.

Mixed media Art Journal by Christina

Hello 13Arts fans . This is Christina with you today with a new art journal page . A mixed media project for my favourite art journal. This time i tried my favourite colours in any type : mists , watercolours or Glow colours!

First of all , I used modeling paste with a large circle stencil to make my backround. Tgen , i used some white gesso with a brush to thicken my surface. Of course , it was ready for mists , watercolours and a lotof water.

I loved making some stamping and loved adding shadows , too. Some 3D elements were necessary , of course. Some flairs , foil butterflies , flowers and chipboards painted with black gesso gave some extra texture and interest on my project!

African soil by Agnieszka Bellaidea

Hi!

After living in Arica for some time I still miss good weather, earhy colors and look of very dry soil.

My newest canvas was created with this in mind.

Po okresie mieszkania w Afryce zawsze tesknie za dobra pogoda, ziemitymi kolorami i wygladem spekanej ziemi. Z tej tesknoty powstala moja nowa praca.

I used white multi medium /you have a choice to buy 0.5 or 1 kg /

Uzylam biale multi medium /macie wybor aby nabyc pojemnik 0.5 albo 1 kg/.

My - very uneven - lines were made with SPLASH in white.

Moje - bardzo nierowne - linie zostaly wykonane z uzyciem SPLASH w koloerze bialym.

"Beautiful" - layout by Aida

Hello, I am popping in today to share my layout on craft base with gorgeous Vintage moments collection papers. On the vintage photo - my mom:) I really enjoyed making this page, hope you like it too. It's all very shiny because if the glitter inks, but it's hard to catch it in photos.

Witajcie kochani, Dziś wpadam do Was z moim nowym layoutem, opartym na kraftowej bazie oraz papierach z kolekcji Vintage moments.
