November challenge #24: "The best part of me"

It's Irina's turn to host the monthly challenge on the 13arts blog. She created a beautiful moodboard. The theme of the challenge is: "The best part of me".

Dziś pora na kolejne wyzwanie. Tym razem jego gospodynią jest Irina, która stworzyła piękny moodboard. Tematem wyzwania jest "Najlepsze we mnie" (lub "Najlepsza część mnie").

Rules of the challenge # 24:

1. Create a project based on our moodboard or the theme of the challenge

2. Publish your project on your blog and add link directly to the post using Inlinkz tool at the right side bar.

3. Please add link and info about our challenge, where your work is published.

4. You may submit as many entries as you like. 

5. You can enter with your project to maximum 2 other challenges and your work must be new, not published before our challenge has started. 

6. The challenge ends on November the 23th at 23:55. Winners will be announced on November the 27th, 2014. 

When the challenge ends, our Design Team will vote and pick the best project. It will be awarded with shopping voucher for 13 arts store worth - 60 PLN with free international shipping. The winner will be invited to join us in one of our challenges as Guest Designers. Additionally we will feature few works with biggest number of points.

1. Stwórz pracę inspirowaną moodboardem lub tematem wyzwania.

3. Oprócz swojej pracy w poście na swoim blogu podaj link do wyzwania i informację, że bierzesz w nim udział.

4. Możesz zgłosić tyle prac ile masz ochotę.

5. Twoja praca musi być nowa, niepublikowana przed rozpoczęciem naszego wyzwania, możesz ją zgłosić na nie więcej niż dwa inne wyzwania.

6. Wyzwanie kończy się 23-go listopada o 23:55, zwycięzcy zostaną ogłoszeni 27-go listopada.

Mam na imię Agnieszka, a w świecie scrapowym Fumiko.
Rękodzieło i tworzenie różnych rzeczy towarzyszyło mi już od dzieciństwa. Jednak wciąż zmieniałam formy tworzenia i poszukiwałam tej ulubionej. Okazał się nim scrapooking, który wypełnia prawie cały mój wolny czas. Stał się moim ulubionym hobby. Aktualnie próbuję odkrywać różne realne techniki scrapowe. Wielu z nich jeszcze nie próbowałam, więc jest to dla mnie cudowny czas tworzenia i realizacji różnych pomysłów.

And the weekend is here!

How are you today friends?
I'm just so excited to share my latest project for 13arts with you, because it's packed with gorgeous products and what can I say, sometimes all it takes to kick-start that rusty mojo machine again is some amazing supplies.

Here's the layout I did. Nothing to it, just sat down, picked out my new favourite colours and teammie Olga Heldwin's new Color Basics collection from my DT pack and everything just happened!

I covered a piece of 12x12 chipboard with Ayeeda's acrylic primer, instead of heavy gesso which gives complete coverage as I wanted an uneven look for the background with little bits of the chipboard peeking through. This was followed by some tissue paper which I stamped and randomly adhered and sealed with Ayeeda gel medium. This was followed by random patting of acrylic primer again and I used my palette knife to create peaks to give a little extra texture. I found that this is something unique to 13arts' primer as it has a "foamy" texture, compared to other gesso I have used that are either too fluid or to pasty. Then it was out with the new colours I received - Matt Paints in Berry, Coral and Olga's Metallic Pink, Pastel Mists in Antique Cream and Caramel.

Just to show the various textures I have on the layout. I used one of the new stencils from Aida's Cozy Afternoon collection and layered with lots of random stamping. 

Papers from Color Basics as my layers and photo mat. Together with some flowers that I colored with Matte Berry and some stamens from the 13arts store. 

Love how versatile the Ayeeda paints are. Use them as-is for an opaque and intense look; water down to move them around like watercolors. Also seen here is the Splash Ink and Metallic Pink which I've mixed with Ayeeda liquid medium to give more full-bodied splatters.

Art journal pages - just create! video tutorial by Ayeeda

Dzisiaj zapraszam na kolejny tutorial z użyciem mediów. Jednak nie będzie to layout, ani kartka, ani nic użytkowego - dziś będę tworzyć strony art journala. Chcę Wam pokazać, że media to nie tylko wspaniały sposób na upiększenie naszych projektów, ale że - przede wszystkim - to świetna zabawa, albo sposób na smutki, stresy i odblokowanie twórcze. Zapraszam na kurs video, a potem ... koniecznie zróbcie coś  podobnego:)

Today I want to share new tutorial with 13 arts mediums. But it will not be a layout, not a card or other "useful" thing;) Today I will show you how you can create art journal pages. Why art journal? Because I want to show you that mediums are not only perfect way to achieve beautiful effects on our layouts and other projects -  it's - above all - great fun, fantastic way to unblock your creativity, to express your sorrows or stress. Hope you will enjoy my video, and then... you should create something similar for yourself:)

Hello everyone!

I haven't got a lot of embellishments at home that's why I don't used them very often but sometimes I want to add something to my project. 

Today I would like to show you how I made little gesso tiles. 

I cut small squares from cardboard

Apply gesso using a palette knife. You will find plenty of knives in 13arts shop - various shapes and sizes. 

Using staple (I straightened it first) draw some letters. 

Spray them by mists.

An art journal page from Melenia

Hello hello!!

Winter is finally here in Greece and I must say that I'm thrilled! I adore winter, with its cold, grey, rainy days - probably because it doesn't last for long here in Crete (my island).  So when we have something for a short period of time, we learn to appreciate it more!

Anyway, I just want to share an art journaling page today, which shouts out my love for winter!

I have chose a colour combination that speaks volumes about winter (at least for me):

grey, blue, dark blue, brown and silver!

I have used the "Timeless" Collection Stickers for my background and

on top of them, I have applied modelling paste with the Dots Mask

and then I have used the amazing Ayeeda Inks!

The white background you see is actually silver!

So I hope my art journal page conveys how much I like winter 

and creates a breezy feeling to the viewers!

Witam.

Rękodzielniczką jestem chyba od zawsze, kartki robię ładnych parę lat, ale scrapować zaczęłam  tak naprawdę całkiem niedawno :) Bo dopiero teraz przełamałam się do robienia prac w formie LO. Zawsze mnie przerażały, a okazało się, że straszne nie są.

Podobały mi się mediowe prace, ale  też nie miałam odwagi spróbować. Ośmieliły mnie produkty 13 arts. Pierwsze zakupy,pierwsza praca  i... polubiłam to .A jak mi to wychodzi będziecie mogli sami ocenić :)

I've been a crafter since I remember. I've made cards since few years, but lately I'm also interested in scrapbooking. I used to think that layouts are difficult but lately I discovered they're not.

I liked mixed media project but I wasn't brave enough to try to make them myself. The same was with 13arts' products- but first shopping, first project and I fell in love. Today you can see if am I good in it.

Pierwsza moja praca dla 13arts to ramka na zdjęcie. Drewniana, gotowa ale jakże odmieniona.To była zwykła, biała, jakaś prążkowana.

My first project for 13arts is an altered frame. It was a typical wooden frame with pattern, covered with white paint

Najpierw zdarłam papierem ściernym farbę i te prążki, bo nie pasowały mi jakoś. Położyłam gesso i pastę. Dzięki masce ramka uzyskała całkiem inny wygląd.

At first I removed paint and pattern with sandpaper. I covered it some gesso and acrylic modeling paste. I also used a stencil to give the frame a different look. 

Żeby nadać strukturę,okleiłam ją bawełnianą koronką i kawałkami gipiury. W ruch poszły kulki szklane w 3 rozmiarach i kawałki szpagatu.

To add some texture I sticked some cotton lace and guipure. I also added 3 kinds of glass filter and pieces of twine

To wszystko pokryłam warstwą ciekłego gel medium i gesso. Resztę, czyli kolor, zrobiły mgiełki i farbki 13 arts.

I covered it all with a layer of liquid gel medium and some gesso. Colors are made with 13arts' mists and paints
