'Sweet'

Here is a quick background tutorial I have put together for you:

Step 1: Scrape some gesso on your background in a rough triangle shape then dry. Then take your 13 Arts Color Basics Triangle Mask and using a lead pencil trace triangles on your background.

Step 2: When your happy with the position of all your drawn triangles, again take your stencil and place it on your background. use a palette knife to spread modelling paste through the mask. I have actually tried to spread it in a way so that I have not completely filled any triangle with the paste, instead creating, raised, partially finished triangles.

Step 3 and 4: Stamp the paste while it is still wet. I have used an ordinary Lego block, and also a Lego Duplo block which is larger. You can use pretty much anything for this step, however if you choose to use a normal stamp I would advise spritzing it with water first. After that let your modelling paste air-dry.

Step 5: Now that it is dry you can begin adding color, I have used 13 Arts Mists in Chalk Celedon, Chalk Sap Green, Pastel Green, and Pastel Yellow. I have sprayed some of each color onto my craft mat, then using a paint brush applied the colors directly to my background, switching colors often, and blending with each other.

Step 6: When I had finished the background it seemed like it was missing something so I have added some 13 Arts Water-Based Ink in Orange, again painting it on the background with a very wet brush. Add some splatters of color around the page.

Step 7: When all the color is dry use a black pen and doodle around some of the modelling paste triangles. I have done this in a very random manner.

Step 8 and 9: To finish off I have added a little black stamping with a triangle stamp, and some splatters of 13 Arts Water-Based Ink in Black (Graphite). 

Step 10: Now that your background is finished you can begin to build your paper layers, add your photos and other elements.

Wyzwanie #14 - CHALLENGE #14 January 2014

Zapraszamy serdecznie na pierwsze w tym roku wyzwanie.

You are very welcome to join our new challenge.

Szczegółowe zasady Wyzwania#14:

1. Przygotuj dowolną pracę według mapki.

2. Użyj w swojej pracy w widocznym miejscu słowa "Time" lub "Czas" (lub jego odmiany).

3. Użyj w swojej pracy co najmniej 1 medium (gesso, tusz, mgiełki, farbki itp.).

4. Opublikuj pracę na swoim blogu i zgłoś ją poprzez narzędzie Inlinkz na końcu posta (link bezpośredni do zgłoszonej pracy, nie do całego bloga). 

5. W poście, w którym opublikowana jest praca prosimy o podanie linka i informacji o naszym wyzwaniu.

6. Można zgłaszać dowolną ilość prac. 

7. Praca może być zgłoszona maksymalnie na 2 inne wyzwania i musi być nowa, niepublikowana przed ogłoszeniem naszego wyzwania. 

8. Wyzwanie trwa od dziś do 26.01.2014. do godz. 23.55. Wyniki zostaną ogłoszone 30.01.2014. 

Po zakończeniu wyzwania nasz zespół wybierze jedną najlepszą pracę z Polski i jedną najlepszą pracę z zagranicy, które zostaną nagrodzone bonami na zakupy do naszego sklepu, o wartości 50 zł . Zwycięzcy wyzwania zostaną zaproszeni do gościnnego projektowania w jednym z następnych wyzwań. Dodatkowo wyróżnimy prace, które zdobyły największą ilość punktów w głosowaniu. 

Rules of Challenge#14:

1. Please create a project using our sketch.

2. Use a word "Time" in your work.

3. Please use in your project at least one medium (like gesso, paint, ink, gel medium, mist etc.).

4. Publish your project on your blog and add link directly to the post using Inlinkz tool at the end of this post.

5. Please add link and info about our challenge, where your work is published.

6. You may submit as many entries as you like.

7. You can enter with your project to maximum 2 other challenges and your work must be new, not published before our challenge has started.

8. The challenge ends January the 26th, 2014 at 23:55. Winners will be announced January the 30th, 2014. 

When the challenge ends, our Design Team will vote and pick one best work from Poland and one best foreign work. Both will be awarded with sets of 13 arts papers and media from our shop. The winners will be invited to join us in one of our challenges as Guest Designers. Additionally we will feature few works with biggest number of points.
