Hello dear 13 arts friends! Soon one of our amazing designers will leave us due to to personal reasons. But we will tell you more about it and thank for all her beautiful projects for us soon.

Christmas Cards with Video Tutorial - by Jacqueline Moore

Hi everyone!!!

As you all know it is getting to that time of year when many of begin to think about Christmas, and begin getting prepared. It is around this time of the year that I begin to make all my Christmas Cards, though I must confess I generally only make them for close family members as I come from quite a big family and there is just no way I would have time to make cards for them all!!!! 

Today I want to share with you these 2 matching Christmas Cards I made using new products from 13 Arts. I find Christmas Cards much quicker to make if I do matching pairs as then there is no need to decide on entirely different papers, colors, designs, ect, and I can do both at the same time.

I also put together a Video Tutorial for you which you can find at the end of this post.

Hello friends! How has your weekend been? 

I'm up on the 13@rts blog with a Christmassy creation. It's only about 1 month away and I'm really looking forward to all the festivities, merry-making and getting together with friends. I'm not much for green and red and gold, but this card was so much fun to make.

I used very simple supplies for this card as I wanted a minimalist sort of look with plenty of white space. To create some texture with a white-on-white effect, I spread modeling paste over one of the new Christmas stencils and sprinkled distress glitter on top while wet. I also die cut and embossed a white snowflake from cardstock paper, and painted it with White and Silver glitter paint.

I rested my white cardstock background on a sheet from Olga's Winter Tales collection. Love the wood grain design because it conveys such a cosy feeling of evenings by the fire in a tidy little cabin. I had also cut out tags from the collection and layered with a gold leaf and a chipboard , colored with Splash! Woodbine glitter ink. The flower was painted with Splash! green glitter ink and I sprinkled some of the gold microspheres inside. The title "Hope" is what I'm praying for this season - that hope will overcome all the evils of this world.

I dripped some Green glitter ink down the top. Wasn't sure what effect I was trying to achieve as snowfall on roof is not green, but it looked good all the same!

It is very difficult to say goodbye to a design team like this! All the girls are incredible and the greatest artists with you can learn! 

Aida thank you very much for trusting me and especially Martha for being available to solve our problems or questions , you are a key part of this team ! So I say goodbye with gratitude for your warm welcome and especially promise to continue arround here! Hahaha! Without further ado I present my last project as GDT for 13arts !

 I was inspired by the quote and the starry sky. As to the quote, I think the magic reigns in our childhood but I always say that I have Peter Pan syndrome ... hahaha 

for that , I used the picture of a little girl with the starry sky ..... I tried to create a starry sky at night , when dreams begin ... For that, I used the black background of the paper to create the darkness of the starry night, 

I have given texture with gray paint and black and white gesso I have stamped some stamps and then I have embossed them with silver powder,a little glitter for it shine more and then I have glued some gauze to look them like a kind of mist...

to finish, i have used a star dies to which I have applied glitter of different colors.

two mini winter cakes by Ingrid

 Hi there 13arts friends!

Today I have two mini winter cakes in two different styles.

They can be opened so there is some room for a little note or present, 

perfect for the holidays or any other special occasion.

One is painted with the new colors from the store, pastel and chalk dirty pink.

The other is with the new paper collection, Winter Tales.

Which one do you prefer?

My favorite set for creating some texture:

glass filler, fine grit, mika flakes, microspheres and glass beads.

I started this pre-made cardboard mini cake by painting it all with two layers of gesso.

Painted with the new colors, pastel dirty pink and chalk dirty pink.

Made a mix of gesso, modeling paste and some magic powder to imitate some whipped creme.

Added all the glass filler, grit, beads and flakes for the texture.

Some gesso and splash white as a final touch.

Some decorative pink crystals.

Added some purple mika flakes to the flowers.

Love all the textures.

And here is my paper mini cake.

Started this one by decorating the sides with the new paper collection, Winter Tales.

Also the mix of gesso, modeling paste and magic powder to imitate the whipped creme.
