A Diary by Paulina Kowalewska - Guest Designer

Pamiętnik "Kołysanki utulanki"
Inspiracją do powstania najnowszego projektu były kołysanki dla mojej córeczki.
Słuchanie popularnych kołysanek skłoniło mnie do stworzenia pamiętnika, w którym zostaną one spisane.
Zamysł zrodził sie juz w procesie powstawania gotowanego papieru gwiazdkowego -z akwarelowymi farbami w proszku i szypułkami truskawek :)

potem juz tylko ubrałam to w formę szytego pamiętnika, z ozdobną okładką. Na froncie mamy inspirujący shaker ze złotymi kuleczkami. Dodatkowym elementem pobudzającym wyobraźnie jest ściągany mixed - mediowy obrazek, gdzie jest mnóstwo kolorów faktur i elementów ozdobnych.

A diary of "lullabies". The inspiration for the new project were lullabies for my little daughter.
Listening to popular lullabies prompted me to create a diary in which they would be written.
The idea was born in the process of creating a cooked star paper - with powder watercolor paints and strawberry stalks. Then I just put it in a diary with a decorative cover. on the front we have an inspiring shaker with golden balls. An additional element stimulating the imagination is a removable mixed-media picture, with lots of colors, textures and decorative elements.

Birthday Cards with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, scrappy friends!

It is Sandi here with you today sharing a couple of birthday cards using several different collections.
We have half a dozen or so birthdays in the family in May and June, so I always need lots of cards!
In fact, I should make more than I do. They are always well received and I like them better than what you can purchase at the store.

So, here is the finished products using the Under the Stars collection and ephemera from several collections. They are similar in that they are almost a reverse of one another.

This one might be my favorite due to the beautiful dark teal Stardust paper, Under the Stars layered on the Shine paper, Under the Stars. I did some fussy cutting from the Shine paper to add some interest to my cards. I placed this across a diagonal strip of paper. The Paint Your Life banner is from the Speaking of Which Cardstock 12x12.

To add some dimension I added sisal and a few flowers from my stash from the now defunct Petaloo by Floracraft. I also added some gold stars from the Gold Adhesive Stars - 56 pieces.

This was actually the first card I created and I had loads of fun doing some mixed media work. I covered my paper with clear gesso and then pushed modeling paste through the Footsteps Stencil. After adding all my embellishments I added color with Tiger Eye Color Glow. Then I splattered everything with White Splash! ink.

My husband likes this one best, so ha! It might be saved for his birthday.
The Color Glow is so very pretty in person.
I added a few pearls and old metal findings to complete the look.

Here is a list of products used:

13 Arts Products
Shine paper, Under the Stars
Stardust paper, Under the Stars
Butterfly Ephemera, Grungy Walls
Ephemera pack, Travel the World
Footsteps Stencil
Tiger Eye Color Glow

Speaking of Which Cardstock 12x12
Clear Gesso
Modeling Paste
Gel medium
Splash Brush
Silicone Brush 50 mm

See you next time!
You have a few more days to get your Challenge entries in!

Emma Zappone, our new Guest Designer

A oto kolejna utalentowana Projektantka. Tym razem z dalekiej Australii. Poznajcie Emmę Zappone.

And here comes another talented Guest Designer. This time from far and beautiful Australia. Meet Emma Zappone!

Hi everyone,
I'm super excited to be joining you all as guest designer!!
It was so awesome to play with beautiful products.
I'm from a country town called Clare in South Australia's wine region and have been scrapping for 14 years. Mixed media is my go to and a personal fave as I love getting my hands dirty.
Plus there are so many cool products out there to use.
My first project share with you....

I chose the perfect pieces from the Ephemera pack to compliment this awesome artwork I found on Pinterest. The background work was done with the Star Alliance acrylic stamp, that I gold embossed.

It is such an honor to play with these products.

I painted a few of the embellishments with 13@rts black gesso and Gold Pearl acrylic Paint.
after my composition was complete I then mixed Royal Gold Satin Pearl Pigment with a splash of water and then painted around my elements creating a shimmery border around my whole composition. This pigment is so awesome.
I finished with a few On the Wall text and some Splash white ink.

I hope you enjoyed my first share and I look forward to joining you all again soon.
Till then, Emma xx

Materials Used:

Moonflowers Paper Under the Stars 12x12
Clear Gesso
Black Gesso

And the last one is made with Summer Rhapsody collection. I don't use enough punk on my work, so here I play with some tones of that color...love the quiet and romantic touch...
