Hi everyone,

I'm Elisa, I am back on the 13Arts Blog today with my next guest designer post for 13Arts. 

 I have for you today a mixed media art journal page featuring loads of gorgeous 13Arts products including the new A4 paper collection by Fiona Paltridge called Conversations on Trains.

I was inspired by the vintage, old world look of the paper collection and also the colours. I wanted to incorporate flashes of colour, texture and fibres by adding different types of fabric and remnants of old lace with grungy lopsided sewing. I also pieced together a few words to create the title and meaning for my page.

To make the background I started with the base paper of A4 Ticket Master, I cut this down to fit my art journal page. I added a small amount of gesso primer in white over the top to tamper down the colours a small amount. Once dry I smoothed black ink over the Mandala stencil with a distress tool.

"Happy Everything" mixed media LO by Christina

Hello 13Arts fans! It 's Christina with you today with a sweet , mixed media page. I love this photo of my daughter and me , so I wanted to scrap it once more ! And which paper collection would match perfectly with my photo? 

"Alice in Candyland " is my first choise for creating a girly page... 

On this page , I have combined two papers together. I have cut these circle elements and used them as an extra desing on this beautiful paper. 

For the backround , I have used the watercolours and have made splashes here and there , in many colours. Then , I used my modeling paste for some more texture!

"I would share my last cookie with you ..." I find this text so sweet... Yes... it shows my love for her...

I love creating pages with a lot of texture. So I use ribbons , paper stripes , paper designs , chipboards ,some glitter (ok, a lot of glitter) , and modeling paste (my favourite product)..

Altered vinyl "Magical Forest" by Monika

Mam dzisiaj dla Was starego winyla w nowej, mediowej odsłonie z ogromną ilością kwiatów, liści i chrobotka. 

Today I have for you an old vinyl in a new, mixed media version with a huge amount of flowers, leaves and a curly moss.

Ponieważ chciałam zachować część płyty w oryginalnym kolorze, nałożyłam białe gesso tylko wokół wewnętrznej krawędzi, środek zostawiłam "czysty". Następnie nałożyłam pastę strukturalną przez wzór z szablonu Berries i pokolorowałam wszystko różnymi kolorami mgiełek.

Because I wanted to keep a part of the vinyl in the original color, I put a white gesso around the inner edge, I left the middle clean. Then I applied the structural paste through the Berries stencil and colored everything with different colors of mists.

W centralnym miejscu nakleiłam motyla w ramce z żywicy. Brokatowe wnętrze ramki to mój ukochany SPLASH! w kolorze Old Gold. Natomiast listki i gałązki pokryłam tym samym tuszem, tylko w kolorze zielonym. 

As my focal point I placed a butterfly in a resin frame. The brocade background in the frame was painted with my beloved Old Gold SPLASH!. I covered the leaves and branches with the same ink, only in green color.

Vintage Summer with Shona

Hello 13@rts Fans!! Today I have used the gorgeous Vintage Summer Collection to create a layout of my fur babies.

 
I used Mist Pearl Olive Green to spray my gauze to lay behind the clusters. I also fussy cut out a piece from the Vintage Summer Vintage Flowers A4 papers to tuck in. All pieces are attached with Gel Medium.  

 
I used chipboard from the Vintage Summer and Rose Field sets. I love the transparent butterflies and added them on top of the Paper Wings of Freedom Butterflies.

 
Last close up…you can see the fun Mask Rose Field Text and Modeling paste. I also used the Script Stamp in the background. Gold Microspheres and 3D balls to finish it all off with some Gesso splatters.

Nasza Gościnna Projektantka Olga znów nas inspiruje. Tym razem pięknym blejtramem! 

Our Guest Designer -Olga - is on the blog again. This time she made a beautiful canvas!  

Hello friends! Today I will inspire you, Olya Limonya)) 

We are already very cold in Moscow, everything is gray ... And I want heat so much. Our inspiration moodboard is very warm and cozy, and it inspired me to create a canvas in eco style. Deers standing on the edge of the forest, around branches, plants, moss, cones ... 

All materials are natural! In the beginning, I applied clear acrylic primer. Next, I mixed the modeling paste with dry brown paint and applied it through a stencil, then craquelure paste. Then I stuck the cutting and started painting with sprays and alcohol inks. Then I already built a composition of branches and flowers. From above, I once again walked with paints and waxes, well, then with the help of acrylic gel medium applied toppings, and in the end I made a spray with white Ayeeda Ink. 

I hope my canvas will inspire you to create your masterpiece!

Canvas panel with butterfly

u mnie znów powstało coś w temacie motyli. Zrobiłem obrazek na bazie tablicy malarskiej, a w jego centrum umieściłem dużego motyla.

Hi,

I created something with butterfly again. I've made a project on canvas panel. I putted the butterfly on the middle this project.

Tło zrobiłem ze skrawków papieru, które zostały mi po innych projektach, a których mi szkoda wyrzucić. Stworzyłem z nich kolaż, który pokryłem warstwą clear gesso. Dodałem nieco kolorów używając mgiełek. Na koniec dołożyłem wzór z masek.

I've made a backround with different stripes of paper, that have left me after other project, which I always want to  throw away. I created a collage with this paper and cover them with clear gesso. I added a little bit of colors with mists. I finished with patterns from stencils.

Napis pokolorowałem brązową perłową mgiełką, którą pokryłem glossy accent. Stworzyło to piękną migotliwą powłokę.

The word I colored with pearl brown mist, which I covered with glossy accent. It made a beautiful sparkly layer.

Wykończyłem projekt dodając nieco kresek narysowanych czarnym cienkopisem oraz metaliczną perełką w płynie. Dodałem kilka plam z czarnego brokatowego splasha.

I finnished the project with a little bit black lines, which I drew with black pen and metallic liquid pearl. I added few stains from black glitter splash.

I hope you have all been well. Today I am sharing a little more serious project I created this week.

This layout is exactly what the title says. Notes and thoughts and a peek through the the window on my heart throughout this week.  I realised anew just how precious the time is  we have with our loved ones. So often we take it for it for granted, or simply get so cought up in the grind of everyday life that we simply loose sight of what really matters.

I started by covering my page in gel medium after which I added a selection of different 13arts sprays. You may note that I included some modeling paste at the start. However I ended up covering it with my photo and embellishments.

Next I matted my photo and created a bed of different textures including Ecru roots, gauze, flowers and lace. As you can see I sprayed my gauze with the 13arts sprays to match my background.

I positioned my photo towards the center of the textured cluster and added a couple of the 13arts sticker word with double sided foam.

 I added some 3Dballs for texture and a bit of bling using my favorite Irridecent Splash Glitter. Last but not least I added splatters using gesso and 13arts sprays.

Hi friends,

I'm Lisa and I'm so excited to be here to bring you my last project as guest designer

I prepared also a video tutorial for my project, an easy mixed media layout with 13arts products.

First I took two equal patterned paper from the"Until Dawn" collection. I tore it in half one and glued from the opposite side on the other patterned paper, then I brushed on clear gesso and made stencil with white modelling paste

Once it was all dry I made some stamps with Archival ink black pad and I used Ayeeda chalk and pastel mists for my background (Chalk Turquoise, Chalk Celadon and Pastel Turquoise) 

Then I glued all my embellishments (chipboards, diecuts, flowers and stickers) creating some layers and a focal point with my white and black photos

Finally I added some little seed beads and spashes of white ink. I really love this product it's the perfect final touch!
