Hi everyone!!!

Today I would like to share a junk journal I've made with you.

The cover is made from a box of chocolate crackers. I just folded some edges in and added I bit chipboard to the spine. Then painted it all with white gesso.

I added some yellow, turquoise and a tiny bit of black paint to the background of the cover. Then I stamped the feathers and the brush on tissue paper and cut it out. I colored the feathers with water colours with different intensity to make the middle feather pop a bit.

Junk journal can be a lot of things, often made with scrapbooking paper and new stuff but I decided to go for junk all the way. My signatures (booklets) are made from from grocery bags, commercials och information brochures. Painted them with a thin layer of white gesso at well.

I attached the signatures with an elastic cord and also made a loop to keep the book closed.

You can use your junk journal for anything, diary, clip book or as in my case, an art journal.

This page is made with black gesso mixed with magic powder to get an black modelling paste that I used with the lovely face mask. I also fuzzy cut lovely papers from 13@rts including the text and the feathers under the flowers.

I hope you enjoy my last blog post as a guest designer and we will see each other in 13@rts Facebook group 13 art ARTelier!

Tutorial from GD Lena Lindström

Hello!
Today we have another beautiful project and inspiring tutorial from our talented Guest Designer Lena Lindström!

Today I would like to show you how I painted with watercolours on plastic!

It may seem impossible but with great 13@rts products, nothing is!!!

I use the 13@rts watercolours and add just a drop of water to the colour block. I pick up a lot of colour in my brush and in a palette I put a few drops of liquid medium and blend the water colour with it. Now I have a mixture that will stick on the transparencies made from the vibrant water colour palette!

I chose a transparencie with flowers to put in my frame and cut out a piece of the flower so that it would escape from the frame a bit :)

I colour everything on the backside so that the lines will not be effected on the "right" side.

After colouring the flowers I put it in the frame and decorated with moss, decorations made from paper clay, flowers and chipboard.

The titel is colored with splash ink. And the flowers is white from the beginning and I just added a bit of water colour in the center of each flower and then sprayed it with water.

Material list:

 Water colour palette
Acrylic liquid medium
Transparencies with flowers
 White berries
Paper clay
Moss
Chipboard Flowers Titel - follow your dreams
 Multi purpose gel medium
White splash ink

Lena Lindström - our new Guest Designer

Witajcie!

Hello!
Time to introduce our new Guest Designer. Lena is a friend of our brand for a long time. Today we would like to show you her first beautiful project with tutorial.

My name is Lena Lindström but online I go by Wanel or LenaWanel, I'm from Sweden and have been doing different craft all my life. I found Scrapbooking in 2007 and started with mini albums and layouts. Then came cards, project life and now I mainly do mixed media.

Hello everyone!
Here is my first blogpost as a guest designer here in the !3@rts blog! I have made a notebook for memories with lots and lots of 13@rts products of course!

I started with a coat of black gesso on the book cover, front and back and dried it. Then I watered down white gesso to make a white wash on the background. I cut a beautiful 13@rts paper in pieces and glued them to the book with gel medium. To give it i bit of water resistance I then painted the papers with clear gesso.
Then it was time for a few stencils, with modeling paste, and then some decorations made with paper clay in molds. A few bits of lace, some chipboards and some wonderful glass cabochons made the next layer. I painted everything with white gesso and when it was dry it was time for some fun with 13@rts misters.
I like to mist with a color and then add water to get my desired effect. I used mister in tree colours, pearl olive green, chalk grey and pearl gold. On the glass cabuchons I painted with gesso and then versa mark och brushed shiny powder in cyan green. I covered it with clear gesso and did a second layer of shiny powder in cyan green and gold in the gesso before it dried. The titel is misted in chalk grey and pastel white och then colored with shiny powder on versamark in the bottom of the letters and dry brushed with white in the top of them.
As a last touch when it was really really dry I did some dry brushing with white to get a few highlights.
Hope you enjoyed my project and see you next month again! Just let me know if you have any questions! Love Lena Often called Wanel online
