Collect beautiful moments - layout by Aida

Uwielbiam kolekcję Dreamland za jej stonowane kolory, za cudowną zieleń i brąz, za uniwersalność.

Dziś mam dla Was rozmarzony layout, a do elementów z kolekcji dołożyłam suszoną hortensję z ogrodu. Aby uniknąć wykruszenia się kwiatów po czasie, warto je dodatkowo zabezpieczyć płynnym medium akrylowym zmieszanym z wodą (przelanym do atomizera, lepiej spryskać niż malować delikatne kwiaty). Można też użyć werniksów w sprayu lub chociażby lakieru do włosów.

I just adore Dreamland collection for its balanced colors, beautiful green and brown shades and its versatility.

Today I bring you dreamy layout. I added some dried hydrangea to the elements from the collection. To protect the flowers from crumbling, you can spray the flowers with acrylic medium mixed with water (put into spray bottle as it is better to spray than paint), use a varnish or even hairspray.

Mixed-media layout by Yulya Chorna

Hello dear friends!

Today I decided to inspire you with mixed media layout.

At this time I used "Sunrise" collection designed by Aida and played with the background. First I took stencil to add the textures than used various sprays (the list is below).

By the way, I painted all the plastic figures with Color Glow powders pre-mixing them with Liquid Acrylic Medium and Texture Powder

Video tutorial is coming soon on my YouTube channel!

Petite Latterns

My dear Creators,

I brought some cozy lantern decorations – using the latest collection - for you today.

I recently visited a friend of mine, where I saw these gorgeous lanterns and I just couldn’t wait to make them myself as well.

I was cutting with ease with the cutter I was lent and afterwards I could start decorating.

On these tiny surfaces the elements and cut outs of the Ephemera set show fantastic.

I was stencilling, embossing, painting and cracking still I was trying to keep the balance and not to overuse the decoration.

They ended up being cut little creations although it’s quite a challenge to photograph them.

GD Farrel Tailor and her newest layout

Hello Everyone, I am back to share with you all my second project as a guest designer. Here in Australia we aren’t really big on celebrating Halloween but I recently I went on a scrapbooking retreat and decided to dress up as Day of the Dead. Straight away I knew I had the perfect 13Arts collection to go with my photo.

To begin I cut 2 of the Unforgettable 12x12 pattern papers in half and then adhered them side by side onto some plain cardstock. To cover the joins I fussy cut out the lace from “Timeless” pp. I also used Unforgettable A6 paper pad and the left over pieces from the other 2 sheets to create a photo mat.

Next I stamped the Sky Flowers onto some white cardstock and then coloured them using Ayeeda Chalk Ink Burnt Sienna and Ayeeda Water Based Ink – Scarlet.

After fussy cutting them and adhering to my layout, I then used the doily from the Unforgettable Chipboard sheet and covered with black ink. Then used a gold wax to cover and cut in half before adhering to the layout. For the title of the layout I used Rosalie’s Letters 12x12 sheet.

Next I used Ayeeda Water Based Ink – black to the background and for splattering. I also used it to colour my Ayeeda Powder – gravel and my flowers.

To finish off the layout I added the powder, sisal and some elements from the Unforgettable Ephemera pack. I then then drew some lines around the edge of the layout.

I hope you enjoyed tutorial and can't wait to be back with another share next month.

Farrel xx

Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout "Beautiful" by Heike`s AugenBlick

 Hello my dear blog reader,

Heike here from Heike`s AugenBlick , and I am your blog host for today.

Finally my favorite season of year started, I am so happy.

October,  the start of the fall season.

Alexander Smith`s quote circumscribes the new month perfectly:

"In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those

of a fine October".

The smell of baked apple with marzipan, hot chocolate and pumpkin soup is filling my house.

Soon the shelves will be filled with the first Christmas candy and first Christmas decoration.

So exciting!!!

But anyway, I have for you a scrapbook layout in mixed media style.

I created my page on the new paper collection Bella and Sunrise.

What I really love is to combine different paper collections.

For this page I was also inspired by the October challenge Mood Board.

Please look at the sidebar for the current challenge from 13@rts

Beautiful...

A closer look:

Here is a short description of my background.

I like to create with two strongly competing colors.

In my case on the page the dark blue paper from the Sunrise paper collection and the

light gray/ white Bella paper collection.

I torn the Sunrise paper and glued on the Bella paper, after that I added two layers

of clear Gesso.

My idea was that the dark side should get texture and the light side should stay flat.

So I added under the transparency a layer gel medium to one of the new stencils of 13@rts

and I covered the gel medium with two different embossing powders from WOW.

I let the whole thing dry overnight.

On the next day, I started with melting the embossing powder

and adding the first color layer. My color choice was burnt sienna chalk spray from 13@rts.

I added it with a plastic pipette, this is my favorite tool for adding spray color.

I applied the spray three times, always drying between the layers, for a wonderful result.

After that I added black gesso, stamp images, big black numbers and scribbeling.

Now my background was done and I started with glueing the transparency and my focale point.

I used from 13@rts:
