Today it's time for the final project from our wonderful and talented Guest Designer- Georgie Connelly. Georgie made a beautiful layout with "His and Hers" collection.

I’m here guesting for 13 Arts with my final project. Must say it has been a delight to guest for such a gorgeous brand.

Here is my layout: 

I used lots of mediums for this design, and started with mixing Shiny Powder in Cyan Green with Modelling Paste and used a palette knife to scrape it across the page roughly where the focal image would be. I also splatted some Yellow Light Splash Ink.

Next, whilst the paste was still wet, I sprinkled some Navy Blue Rainbow Colour Duo, Silver Microspheres, Glass Microsphere and then stuck some cheese cloth down whilst it was all still wet, then spritzed with water to bleed the blue paint out.

Once this was all dry I used some drops of Bronze Glitter and then added my fussy cut feathers from Feather Paper I then sprayed with Chalk Dirty Pink Mist, keeping as close to the centre as possible.

While the pink was still wet I added clear Gel Medium, and did some sprinkling again using Black Hexagonal Sparkles, Blue Light Grit and Glass Microspheres.

Hi guys!!

Again, I am grateful to be guesting here for 13arts for my second installment. Today I have a little piece of art to share, feeling in the mood for brights but teamed with some darkness too. I love the freedom these pieces bring, to let go and allow the colours to flow and blend.

I started off with some crackle paint, and then used a couple of paints to create a light base. Once dried I then used a stencil with clear gel medium and some clear iridescent glitter to catch the butterflies and words.

Then I used the liquid ink, in various shades of yellow, orange and reds and just allowed the ink to move until I had a swirl of colours that I liked.

Next I splattered some of the liquid glitter and played down a base of yellow-dyed cheese cloth and black thread.

Using the ‘SMILE’ from …. and some wire with beads and I hot glued this down and using the clear medium with black and red beads I grounded the circular focal down. The flowers were dyed with violet and slid underneath the focal word with the butterfly perched on the end.

I finished up with a few extra red seed beads and a few more drops of the green glitter.

Georgie Connelly

My name is Georgie and I’m based in the beautiful county of Dorset on the south of the UK. 

Artistically, I am a lover of altered art, shabby chic, grunge, modern art journalling, paper crafting… okay most things, anything arty/crafty/painty (is that a word..?), I love it all!!! My biggest love is mixed media within any of these forms.

Colour entices me more than anything. From light and airy, to dark and gothic, bright and soulful (and everything in between). I believe the way hues ebb and flow together is what really makes a project, and gives it that ‘wow factor’. I adore how colours enhanced by mediums used beneath, around, or over them. The possibilities are beautifully endless…

Georgie here with you guesting for 13arts and it is such an honour! For my first project I have done a layout. Think sparkle, glamour, Christmas parties… :) and that was my inspiration behind the piece.

The photo is backed by You and Me card stock, layered and pieced using both sides, with a clock face chippies set in between. The chippie was sprayed with Chalk Dirty Pink and dusted over the wet spray with Bronze Shiny Powder, blended out so it’s a pinky orange gold.
