Hello today we've got another special and wonderful guest - our August Guest Designer is Marylin Rivera - please have a look at first part of her gorgeous designs and meet her a bit closer. 

Hi! I'm Marilyn Rivera and I live in Puerto Rico, a tropical island in the Caribbean. I live with my husband, Israel, and my two teenagers, Alexander and Paola Sofia. I started in this hobby 5 years ago and I fell in love with it immediately, It's a therapy for me!

I'm a fashion designer so during the day I'm surrounded by fabrics, sewing machines, threads and dress forms and when I'm not playing with fabrics, I'm playing with papers. I love to create!

In my pages you will see a lot of techniques that I use for my dressmaking, such as pleating or draping. I love mixing papers with fabrics, mediums. lace, feathers, paint, and pearls . I think my style is like a "modern shabby chic" with lots of layers, distress, textures and dimension .

Hello everyone!! I'm so happy and excited  to be the August Guest Designer for 13arts. Today I'm sharing with you two pages that I created using the "All is Love" collection, this beautiful collection is very versatile and you can see it in my work, one is a strong, bold page and the other one is sweet and soft... 

I started to play cutting the papers to create the design.  Once I had the design I painted with gesso around the design.

 I added dark paint and blurred, then I used Acrylic Gel Medium by 13 arts (transparent) around the design to glue the beads.

I made some fussy cutting from the papers and used it in my page like the tittle.

I misted with the Pearl Bordeaux color in some areas in my page and painted the flowers, too.

"I LOVE YOU"

I worked with the same collection "All is Love" but this time I made a softer looking page.  I did various techniques in this page, I draped the paper, I masked it and painted. 

I made a lot of fussy cutting for this page, I love the hearts that came in one of the papers and cut them and used like embellishments.

I love the glass beads and I glued with the transparent gel medium...I love the effect!
